Tiny Tasters: Baby's First Bites
with Nicole Silber, RD, CSP, CLC
Pediatric & Family Nutrition/Lactation Counselor
In this 90 minute class you will learn everything you need to know about how to introduce food to your little one in a safe, nutritious, flavorful, fun, and most importantly, baby guided way. You will walk away with knowledge on:
-When and how to introduce foods and complex textures
-How to let the process be baby guided, whether you are doing traditional purees or baby led weaning
-When to wean off formula or milk
-Baby appropriate foods and portion sizes
-Current recommendations on allergies
-Nutritious foods to focus on (and what to avoid) during the first years
-How to excite little taste buds to create adventurous eaters & prevent picky eating
-How to foster positive mealtime environment
-What gear you need to get started
-How to shop for baby food
-How to make baby food from scratch - recipes included
There will be baby food tastings!
This class is intended for caregivers of babies 0-10 months
About Nicole:
As a registered dietitian, board certified specialist in pediatric nutrition, and certified lactation counselor, Nicole has worked with hundreds of children and families with chronic medical conditions, food allergies, picky eating, oral-motor and sensory processing disorders, infant nutrition, breastfeeding, gastrointestinal conditions, prematurity, underweight and obesity. Nicole also serves as the nutritionist for FoodieKid baby foods. Prior to her current roles she was a clinical nutritionist at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia and at NYU Langone/Fink Children's Ambulatory Care Center. When Nicole is not teaching families how to feed their children, she is busy feeding her own tiny tasters, Lily and Luna.
