RAISING RESILIENT GIRLS
A PARENT EDUCATION TALK FOR PARENTS, TEACHERS, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS PRESENTED BY GIRLS LEADERSHIP.
Girls Leadership is a national non-profit organization that equips girls with the skills to exercise the power of their voice. Since 1999, the organization has awakened thousands of girls to a new, bold definition of leadership. Co-founded by bestselling author, Rachel Simmons, Girls Leadership believes that leadership is a way of life, which begins in girlhood. We define leadership as a girl’s ability to know how she feels, say what she needs, and respond courageously to her mistakes. Girls graduate from our programs more emotionally intelligent, resilient, and confident.
This presentation speaks to parents and teachers about the challenges girls face today, the reasons why they struggle, and what we can do to help them. In this acclaimed 1-hour talk (followed by a 30 minute Q&A), Girls Leadership's co-founder Simone Marean will share how to help girls practice assertive self-expression, emotional intelligence and healthy relationships, preparing them for a life of personal and social leadership. This engaging presentation covers the development of girl dynamics beginning in preschool through high school.
As written up in
Parents
Magazine
, this talk concentrates on practical advice that can be executed in a real-life setting, such as:
Talking about your own not-so-happy feelings;
Sharing your mistakes;
Helping your daughter to solve her own problems;
The Good Girl Phenomenon and conflict as an opportunity for positive change
