HRP Mamas Parent & Child Guided Saturday Playgroup

This is a shoe-less space, socks are required
There is a two-flight walk up to Judy’s loft - please leave a folding stroller downstairs

Please note: There are three adorable cats in the adjoining art studio, and while they are not allowed in the space during playgroup, we cannot accommodate those with allergies to cats.

HRP Mamas Parent & Child Guided Saturday Playgroup 
For children 12-28 months and their parent/s

Led and hosted by Judy Stevens of Judy's Playgroup in Tribeca

The Judy Stevens / HRP Mamas Parent & Child Guided playgroup presents an opportunity for up to six parents – and their respective 12-28 month-old children – to meet on a weekly basis for fun, learning, friendship, and community. 

This playgroup is hosted and led by Tribeca’s own Judy Stevens, founder of Judy’s Playgroup.
Judy’s playgroup is a much loved Tribeca institution with a legacy of over 35 years. 

The group meets at the playgroup’s location on Franklin Street in a classic Tribeca loft full of early childhood toys and activities - and a 37 year old turtle named many years ago by Judy's daughter of the same age, called Fast Food! Parents will be greeted on their first session with refreshments and Judy’s famous freshly baked banana bread muffins.

Each gathering will focus loosely on parenting questions and themes such as:

Sharing
Friendship
Separation
Anger
Tantrums
Saying “No.”


The goal of this group is to help parents forge community around their shared experiences in parenting children ages 12-28 months. Judy will help parents navigate conversations regarding child behavior - and share her thoughts based on her more than three decades of experience with preschool aged children in the classroom.

This guided playgroup will meet for four consecutive weekly sessions for 1.5 hours each.

Please note: There are three adorable cats in the adjoining art studio, and while they are not allowed in the space during playgroup, we cannot accommodate those with allergies to cats.


About Judy's Playgroup:

Judy’s Playgroup was founded in the 1980s by artist and Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Judy Stevens. Judy’s gentle and highly creative playgroup has served as a first preschool experience for scores of toddlers in Lower Manhattan. Alumni Lena Dunham says: “I loved my time at Judy’s Playgroup.  I’m 32 and my best friends are still from there!  It’s a community, creative loving and engaged.  I feel so lucky.”

HRP Mamas is thrilled to partner with Judy Stevens to offer parents a unique HRP Mamas opportunity on weekends to connect with one another in a welcoming and warm setting. We especially hope that the Saturday schedule will allow for those parents who are not available during the weekdays, to be able to connect or reconnect with their peers.

Registration is non-refundable & non-transferable.
We do not offer make-up sessions for this series.
Sessions that need to be cancelled by us due to major weather events will be rescheduled the following week or the soonest possible date.
