What we run

06

This is an overview of the topics our workshops have addressed. The prenatal workshops and the preschool admissions workshop run on an ongoing basis. Everything else we repeat when demand is high and refresh with new subjects, so every year looks a little different depending on the books being published and which speakers are available.

01Prenatal WorkshopsPregnancy and childbirth, newborn care essentials, breastfeeding essentials. The practical groundwork, taught before you need it, and open to all expectant parents whether or not they are members. Repeated every six to eight weeks, so there is always one coming.
02The First YearsBest of baby gear, newborn sleep strategies, sleep training, intro to solids, potty training, limit-setting for toddlers, adjusting to a sibling, child development in the first years, and car seat safety. Our preschool admissions workshop runs twice a year.
03Raising Older ChildrenRaising resilient girls, raising boys, talking to kids about sex and sexuality, and college planning.
04For Parents ThemselvesMindfulness for parents, and conflict resolution and relationship strengthening for couples finding their footing again.
05The Practical and LegalEmployment law for parents, estate and insurance planning, and the basics of matrimonial law.
06Speaker EventsBook talks with best-selling authors, panel discussions, and evenings with experts in parenting, pregnancy, childbirth, and child development.

We have also run guided support groups for parents of toddlers, led by an early childhood educator, covering limit setting, potty training, food struggles, tantrums, separation anxiety and sleep. They are paused at the moment and we expect to run them again. Sign up for announcements to hear when.

Why they are open to everyone

They are also free of marketing. No sponsors, no product pitches, and nothing sold from the front of the room.

The Early Education Fair

Annual
Once a year

Our annual fair brings Downtown Manhattan preschools, daycares, and early education providers into one room for an afternoon, so families can meet them all in a single trip rather than a season of separate tours.

Read more about the fair, including this year's date and the schools taking part.
